Vancouver Canucks President Trevor Linden, along with the Prince George Cougars, members of the City of PG
and Lheidli T’enneh held a joint news conference to confirm the Canucks are headed to Prince George.
Over 200 people gathered in the atrium at CN Centre as the Canucks formally announced plans to hold their training camp in Prince George this September.
Linden says that September 18th through the 20th the team will be on Prince George ice, with all practices open to the Public.
He finished off by saying that his experience during travelling training camps as a young player showed him that the Canucks are not just Vancouver’s team – but all of BC’s.
“When I spoke to Trevor it was about him coming up here and bringing the team during our 100th birthday.” Mayor Lyn Hall said “So I think there will be a real festive feel around the community again much like what we felt during the games. Its going to be a lot of fun.”
