The weather is expected to help out crews battling the Little Bobtail Lake fire.
The high winds over the weekend caused the fire perimeter to increase and it is now only 15 percent contained and has spread to an estimated 24,000 hectares.
Information Officer Melissa Klassen says this weeks weather will help them get the fire better contained.
“We’re experiencing cooler temperatures,” says Klassen, “winds are very quiet, nothing like the gusts we were seeing in the 35-50 km/h on Saturday.”
Klassen says they still have 300 firefighters on the blaze.
The RCMP is still continuing its investigation into who caused the fire and Klassen says any human fire activity can be punishable by up to a million dollars in fines or up to a year in prison.
