Mega 50/50 Jackpot sets a record in PG

$187,300 was handed out in last night’s (Saturday) Prince George Cougars Mega 50/50 Jackpot, and for a good cause.

“Well I wasn’t sure if it was real or not!…”

Richard Sitoski walked away with half of the record breaking pot in last night’s Mardi Gras Night.

“Well I wasn’t sure if it was real or not! They called me twice, actually, back to back, and I didn’t get the first one, or the second one. And then I called the number back thinking it was somebody I knew who needed help or something, and it was the guy from the 50/50 draw,” said Sitoski.

“I split the ticket with my brother in law, so I have to give him half. And then the rest, probably just some house renos and a vacation somewhere.”

He added that his kids want to go to Disneyland.

Half of the pot will be going towards a proposed multi-sport family adventure park being planned by the Prince George Community Foundation, and Prince George Downtown Rotary.

If the mega park gets the green light, it’ll feature a splash park, some playgrounds, and a pump track.

The estimated price tag for the park sits around $1.5 million to $2 million.
