The Prince George Folkfest Society are bringing back the Coldsnap festival to the city, and will play at the PG Playhouse from January 28th to February 5th.
Dwight Wolfe, the Media Manager for Coldsnap, said the festival helps get people out during a period where a lot of time is spent at home.
“The society felt that was sort of like a void, an area that needed some music, and an opportunity for people to get out and break away from the winter blues.”
Wolfe said the 15 year festival was held in different venues across Prince George in previous years, but the COVID-19 pandemic is limiting them to the Playhouse.
He added that people will have a choice on how they’d like to attend.
“We will also be streaming our main stage events. There will be a nominal fee to access the streaming video service for the concert. As well as being able to purchase tickets and attend the venue in person. There will be limited seating of course.”
On top of the main concert events and the Coldsnap for Kids events, Wolfe said they will also be hosting free workshops for people to attend.
