PG residents very generous on Day 1 of Community Christmas

The Community Christmas put on by St. Vincent De Paul and Vista Radio is off to a good start.

Bernie Goold, who is on the Board of Directors of St. Vincent De Paul says it’s been very touching.

“Two little twin boys came with their older sister, and it was the first time they’ve ever donated,” said Goold.

“They were so hesitant in handing over the two gifts, but you could see they were pleased in a way, and what a lovely way, they’re not even five yet, to learn how to give.”

She says people have been very generous with cash donations.

“That lets us go out and buy in bulk, and then we get a little bit better value,” Goold explained.

“Anything that would go into a hamper food-wise, that you would be buying for your own Christmas week’s groceries, is great. If that’s not convenient for you, if you give us cash, we will make sure those items are bought to go into the hampers.”

Donations of food and toys can be brought to the GOAT 94.3 and Country 97 radio stations at the corner of Ferry and Ospika Thursday from 6 in the morning to 6 at night.
