CNC receives a trade seat lift from the BC government

The College of New Caledonia has received a boost from the BC government.

As it was granted just over $330,000 towards 64 critical trade seats, to help reduce wait times for those entering in demand trade professions.

Prince George – Valemount MLA Shirley Bond says the College won’t be the only institution benefiting:

“This funding being provided Province wide, a total of $6.1 million dollars, is designed to align our trades training program with jobs that are in demand by a range of industries across the Province”

Bond says that BC expects to have one million job openings by 2022, with 2/3 of those jobs left vacant by those exiting the workforce.

She says this funding will help to substantially increase the number of replacement workers filling these positions.
