COVID-19 cases in the Prince George local health area have dropped substantially for the second week in the row, according to the BCCDC.
The area, which also encompasses Mcbride, Valemount, and Mackenzie saw 168 cases between October 24 to 30.
The number dropped by 43 compared to last week’s mark, which was also 75 fewer than the week before that.
79% of residents 12+ in the PG LHA have received both vaccinations, while 86% are partially vaccinated.
Prince George’s rate of immunization continues to trail behind the provincial rate, as now  90.5% of all eligible BC residents have received their first dose and 86.1% received their second dose.
Meanwhile, the Nechako area saw 15 cases during this time frame, an area with 74% of residents 12+ partially vaccinated and 66% fully vaccinated.
Nechako also saw a notable drop in cases, as the region reported 43 fewer cases than the week before, when 58 cases were identified between October 17 to 23.
The Peace River North and South areas have the lowest rates of fully immunized residents in all of BC, following only Nechako.
60% of residents 12+ in the Peace River North area are fully immunized, a mark that dips to 57% in the Peace River South area.
Peace River North saw 91 cases between October 24 to 30, while Peace River South saw 101 cases.
