Wind farm collaboration accepted by local first nations group

The proposed Nulki Hills Wind project got some good news last week.

As Innergex, and the Saik’uz first nation came to an agreement to jointly develop the energy wind farm, slated for construction just 30 kilometers south of Vanderhoof.

Amrit Dhatt is an advisor with Innergex, and says this project has shown plenty co-operation:

“…and this partnership reflects our commitment to work together respectfully and collaboratively, to build this project which happens to be on the traditional territory of the Saik’uz first nation”

She says they are currently working on obtaining an environmental assessment certificate, and an electricity purchase agreement with BC Hydro. If everything goes to plan they hope to start construction in 2017, with full operation by 2019.

Dhatt also says those interested in learning more about the project can visit their booth at the Vanderhoof trade show on May 1st and 2nd.

Something going on in the Prince George area you think people should know about?
