24 residents and three staff members at Jubilee Lodge have tested positive for COVID-19 since the outbreak was declared on September 5th.
Five of the residents have passed away in connection with the outbreak, two of which were epi-linked.
Northern Health said they are closely monitoring the situation, and the facility is taking extra steps of protection:
- Increased frequency of cleaning and infection control measures
- Enhanced symptom monitoring
- Reduced movement of staff and residents
- Temporary suspension of social visits (essential visits are not impacted)
Public health officials will only declare the outbreak over when the chains of transmission have stopped.
