Local immigration advocate in running for Canada’s Top Immigrant contest

A local immigrant advocate is in the running to be one of Canada’s top immigrants.

RBC is running a voting contest to find the Top 25 Canadian Immigrants.

Immigrant and Multicultural Services Society Executive Director and Founder Baljit Sethi is among those in the running for the honour.

She says she started the organization after no services were available and there was a high population of immigrants.

“And so I was helping them for interpretation and their families, to go to immigration and I was going with them,” says Sethi, “and Immigration Canada thought I was doing some useful work, maybe they should create a position over here.”
