Spirit of the North hopes the Festival of Trees can return as planned

With COVID-19 protocols back in place for BC, Spirit of the North is cautiously moving forward with the Festival of Trees- a Home Grown Christmas.

“There have been a lot of questions following last year’s Festival of Trees that was reimagined beyond what we thought was possible as to whether or not we would be proceeding once again this year,” said Judy Neiser, CEO for the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation.

“The truth is we can’t see it not moving ahead, hopefully in a more traditional way, but definitely in some fashion.”

The festival is set to run from November 26th to December 5th, and Spirit of the North said they are working closely with Prince George and Northern Health to get the event to meet the public’s expectations.

“Entering our 28th year we feel that healthcare is more prevalent than ever and focusing on funding much-needed healthcare equipment will once again be top of mind,” said Neiser.

Last year’s focus for Spirit of the North was funding for the Dedicated Molecular Diagnostic Lab.
