Charges have been approved against a 23-year-old Prince George man following an investigation into drug trafficking in the Millar Addition area.
The Public Prosecution Service of Canada approved the following charges against Damiond Rain Craig Sutherland:
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking x 2
- Unauthorized Possession of a Loaded, Restricted Firearm
- Possession of a Firearm while Prohibited
According to police, the investigation was initiated on August 7, 2020, when the Prince George RCMP’s Street Crew Unit (SCU) began an investigation into drug trafficking on the 1600 block of Kenwood Street.
AÂ Controlled Drugs and Substances Act Search Warrant was executed on the residence, and police located a large quantity of illicit drugs and several firearms.
“Police seized enough fentanyl to produce 760 doses and the amount of cocaine seized could make over 100 doses. Together, this would have generated over $35,000 in drug-related revenue. These quantities are concerning to police in Prince George, especially in light of the ongoing opioid crisis,” said PG RCMP Corporal Jennifer Cooper.
She adds Sutherland is known to police, and the file is currently before the courts.
