Local lingerie company showcased in magazine sold across Canada

A small Prince George-based business is being featured in a national magazine for its work in inclusivity and women’s empowerment.

Modern Match Lingerie is showcased in the September edition of Canadian Living, a magazine sold all across the nation.

Shauna Allan, Founder of Modern Match Lingerie says she was ecstatic when she heard the news and is happy to have her community involvement recognized on such a large scale.

She says it came as a surprise, since a few weeks before being notified of the article she received an email requesting a fact-check that she initially believed to be spam.

“A few weeks later, someone tagged us on Instagram, one of our community members, flipping through her magazine and said ‘look what I found?’ and so we were cheering in the office and all excited and we jumped in our car to go look for the magazine to read the issue and it was just an incredible acknowledgment,” she explained.

The article highlights Modern Match’s efforts to support inclusivity and empowerment, and Allan says it is also wonderful to have the Prince George community recognized on such a large scale.

“What’s most important about our brand, and of course now more than ever being highlighted with our recent pandemic and the forest fires is we compact with a strong community so we host monthly empower hours, which is a virtual setting for people across Canada and the United States to come together as women and support one another,” explained Allan.

She adds she also has a large Facebook community and blog that focuses on women’s wellbeing.

“And we’ve always believed that lingerie is a personal choice and it’s nothing short of a confidence booster to help women tackle whatever life is throwing their way,” she added.

Allan adds her brand offers a wide variety of size ranges to ensure all women have the chance to feel that confidence.

The Canadian Living September 2021 issue can be found in many drug stores across Prince George.
