COVID-19 cases in the Prince George area have levelled out for the time being, according to the B.C. Centre for Disease Control.
The region saw 47 cases from April 18 to 24, in line with the previous week’s total of 46.
Prince George also continues to see an average of 5 to 10 cases per 100,000 people.
The Nechako region reported an additional nine cases, making for 18 test positives in the last 14 days.
Other areas of note include Prince Rupert, where just two infections were found after a community-wide vaccination plan.
The town of about 15,000 was previously a COVID-19 hotspot, reporting over 100 cases a week in March.
However, COVID-19 cases continue to surge in the Peace River North and South regions.
PRN saw 78 cases, up from 61, and PRS reports 66, down from 76 the week prior.
Six people have also tested positive in Fort Nelson, an area that has previously reported large case clusters but has remained ‘relatively’ COVID-19 free since January.
All three regions report over 20 cases per 100,000 people.
