Residents living along North Kelly Road will need to head downtown to collect their mail for the time being.
This comes after Canada Post suspended mail delivery to the area last month due to safety concerns.
Traffic congestion, vehicle speed, and street width currently make delivery unsafe according to the postal company.
A safety review is underway and is expected to be completed shortly.
For now, customers have been asked to temporarily pick up their mail at the 5th Avenue post office Monday to Friday.
A full statement can be found here:
On December 18, 2020 some residents of North Kelly Road were notified that, due to safety concerns for our letter carriers, delivery to the door would be suspended effective December 19, while we conduct a safety review. Traffic congestion, vehicle speed, and the street width make delivery unsafe for our delivery personnel, and the safety of our employees is of the utmost importance.
We expect the review to be completed shortly and will communicate with affected customers. In the interim, customers have been notified that they can temporarily pick up their mail at the post office located at 1323 5th Avenue, from Monday to Friday between the hours of 9 am and 5 pm. We ask that customers bring a valid government issued photo ID to pick up their mail and parcels.
We apologize to our customers for this inconvenience and thank them for their patience while we finalize our review.
