The Stanley Cup comes to PG

A young hockey team had the chance to touch Lord Stanley’s Cup Wednesday night.

At the cup’s side was Phil Pritchard, Curator of the Hockey Hall of Fame.

He’s always impressed to see young teams, like PG’s Atoms Tier One “Green Machine” get up and close to it.

“You see the little kids and the big kids that are all excited, the adults and the kids,” he says. “It’s pretty emotional for them, there’s always smiles on their faces. The adults are thinking back to when they were a kid and their heroes, now the kids are looking for their heroes on there, so it’s pretty special every time we do it.”

The Cup was brought in to Kin-1 as a surprise for the team.

It has has been touring Northern BC this week. stopping in Smithers to get people excited for their charity golf tournament.
