It’s Transit Driver Appreciation Day in Prince George.
Bus Driver Chris Holbrook has been behind the wheel for the past 10 years in the city.
Looking back, he says he has met a lot of great people along the way, too many to single-out.
“I call it an office on wheels, you get to enjoy the weather, but some days it’s not the best, some days it’s beautiful, so it depends on what season you’re looking at,” he says.
Holbrook volunteered heavily as a driver during the 2015 Winter Games, as well as with Prince George’s Regional Highway Rescue Team.
“I’ve always looked at volunteering as a great thing,” he says. “I became a member [of the Rescue Team] a couple months after I moved here.”
BC Transit is encouraging bus riders to head over to TransitDriver.org, print out a “Thank you card” and give it to a bus driver today.
