Seven PG police officers awarded for impaired driving investigations

Seven Prince George Mounties are being honored for their dedication to impaired driving investigations.

The officers were named to ‘Alexa’s team,’ created to recognize police officers in BC for their efforts to improve road safety.

The team is named after Alexa Middelaer, a four year old girl killed by an impaired driver in 2008.

The nominees for 2019 are as follows:

Cst. David Hallmark
Cpl. Duane Biever
Cst. Adrian Swann
Cst. Arthur Dalman
Cst. Keith McCreadie
Cst. Edward Chan
Cst. Mark Macapinlac

To be nominated for Alexa’s Team, police officers must have removed at least 12 impaired drivers from the road in the previous calendar year through a Criminal Charge investigation or the Immediate Roadside Prohibition (IRP) administrative process, in addition to issuing Administrative Driving Prohibitions, IRP Fails, and IRP Refusals.

“These officers are to be commended for their dedication and commitment ensuring our roadways are safe for everyone,” said Insp. Lori Orstad, Operations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.

“Keeping road users safe is a priority for the Detachment and our officers. Their efforts are very much appreciated.”

Anyone who sees an impaired driver is asked to call 911.
