Housing starts seem to be picking up steam in Prince George.
Last month, 10 new homes began construction compared to 7 in February of 2014.
Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation analyst Serena Teakles says this has also been reflected in the resale market:
“On a year to date basis – so for the first two months of 2015 – total housing starts are up 93% over figures from last year. Mind you, that this is only two months of information with another ten to come”
Teakles says so far this year they have seen a total of 26 fully detached homes erected, as well as one multi family complex.
