The tourism association here in the North is thrilled with results from the Canada Winter Games.
Northern tourism products and services were shown off during the games, as the Northern BC Tourism plaza brought in over 25,000 visitors.
Blaine Estby is with the association, and says Northern Tourism exposure was at an all time high:
“..there were four communities in at any given time for a three day period, so even if a visitor came in on the opening weekend, they could come in the following weekend and there would be four new communities with new stakeholders and different tourism products shown”
Estby says he’s already seen and heard of several local companies receiving calls and increases due to efforts at the plaza.
