RCMP investigate “road ramming”

A local man is in custody and RCMP still search for tips after a dangerous scene unfolded on Highway 16.

On Wednesday just after 4:30 p.m., police received a report of a red Honda Civic that was being chased at high speeds by a green Honda Accord, which rammed the vehicle in an attempt to force it off the road.

Multiple units from PG RCMP to North District Traffic converged on Highway 16, who eventually found the suspect’s vehicle, crashed into a snowbank.

The suspect, 41 year-old Nathen Tayler fled, but was found by a police dog soon after.

Police believe the incident stemmed from a previous conflict and was not a case of spontaneous road rage.
