Childrens coalition sounds off on recent poll results

British Columbians appear to be in favour of funding a provincial child care service.

Results of a recent poll conducted by Insights West, quickly drew the attention of the Coalition of Child Care Advocates, who’s spokesperson Sharon Gregson, says nearly 75% of respondents would support a $10 a day program:

“…Not just sending parents small cash tax credits but actually investing in building a childcare system, that kind of support has never happened in British Columbia before, the $10 a day plan clearly resonates…”

Gregson says the entire poll itself was a startling one, saying 82% of families know that childcare in BC today can cost as much as a mortgage, while 75% agree that access to quality, affordable childcare benefits families, employers and the economy.
