McBride’s Mountain View Road still being monitored by regional district

The Regional District of Fraser Fort George (RDFFG) and the Ministry of Transportation continue to carefully monitor Mountain View Road near McBride.

This, following what the regional district is describing as a “debris flood incident”.

Residents are reminded that hazards are still present in the evacuation order area, and more debris events are likely.

A 200m section of the upper channel of Willox Creek has been observed with fresh stress cracking, indicating imminent collapse.

Although a date hasn’t been set, the RDFFG will be holding a meeting for residents who are under evacuation order as a result of the Willox Creek flood.

Mountain View Road is now open for several hours each day, although times are subject to change and are determined by the Ministry of Transportation.

Residents under evacuation order are not permitted to return to their homes at this time.
