Prince George’s Relay For Life becomes Relay At Home due to COVID-19

It’s a reimagining of one of Prince George’s signature events.

2020’s Relay For Life will be formatted a little differently than last year’s in-person event at the CN Centre, with the event being retooled as the first-ever “Relay At Home”.

Relay At Home will be taking place on June 13th from 4 to 6 P.M.

All the key components of the event, including the Survivor Celebration and Luminary Ceremony, will be preserved.

“Though it will look very different this year, that doesn’t mean its impact will be any less,” said event coordinator Aimee Cassie.

Relay At Home will feature performances by artists such as Canadian country star Brett Kissel, Paul Langlois from The Tragically Hip, Virginia to Vegas, Joel Plaskett and others.

Following the broadcast, participants will be encouraged to walk in their own neighbourhoods, display team signs, and share their efforts on the local Facebook page: Relay For Life Prince George.

The event will be streamed on Facebook and YouTube.
