BC looks to improve record in men’s hockey

The BC men’s hockey team finished round robin play with a 1-2 record after a 6-4 loss to Ontario.

Despite the loss, Justin Almeida of the Cariboo Cougars says BC played well.

“That was our best game of the tournament, we had a few breakdowns in our D-Zone that cost us in the end, but we have to build on it for our next game,” he says.

Almeida says BC is getting better each game.

“Opening day, we had some jitters getting on the ice for the first time, our second game we were playing as individuals, [Tuesday] we brought our team-game together,” he says.

Ontario leads Pool A at 3 and 0, while Manitoba is in second and BC third.

Men’s hockey quarter-finals begin Thursday including BC against Quebec at 7:30 p.m. at Kin 2.
