2015 Games “Best Ever” for shooting events, says director

It was a busy one at the CNC for the final day of air shooting competitions on Thursday.

Susan Verdier is the Technical Director for sport shooting, and spoke about how this is her third Games with the sport.

“I can safely say these are the best Games ever for us, because this is the first time ever we’ve used electronic target heads and electronic scoring,” she says. “You see the monitors up on both sides of the range, people can follow shot-by-shot the athletes from every province, it’s very exciting.”

She says the air shooting competitions saw 80 athletes from 10 provinces and territories compete, and mentioned the Shooting Federation of Canada is working on a junior age athletes program for competitors under 20 years old to help develop skills further.
