BC Ringette loses to Manitoba

A tough break for BC’s Ringette Team at the Winter Games.

They sustained a 7 – 4 loss to Manitoba.

Head Coach Cathy Lipsett says “We had them scared, we were ready to go on and be ready to have a good battle, we just let down a couple minutes and it hurt us,” she says.

Lipsett says they proved to be stiff competition.

“They’re very competitive , very strong, they will probably be in the medal round.”

Sidney Irving of Prince George (pictured) plays on the team, along with Nina Tajbakhsh of North Vancouver, who came out of the game disappointed, but confident in the team’s efforts.

“I think we put our heart into it, we fought hard, and we didn’t let up until the end, it just didn’t work in our favour,” she says. “They’re a good team, we faced them a couple times before coming here, we’ve kept up with them, they’re good competition for us.”

Other Quarter-Final games of the day have Alberta verses Quebec, and Nova Scotia taking on Ontario at the Coliseum .

Later Wednesday night, it’s Saskatchewan versus New Brunswick.
