Free workshop helps identify fraud and scams

With several thousands of people in town for the games this month, the PG RCMP wants to prepare shop owners and the general public about the dangers of fraud and counterfeit currency.

That’s why they will be holding a free workshop this evening, dedicated to these scams, which Linda Parker with community policing explains:

“Sabrina Cordero with the Bank of Canada will discuss at length counterfeit currency and ways to identify the real thing from the fake thing and Constable Fred Green will discuss popular frauds and scams that people may encounter”

If you are interested in learning more about these scams, and ways to prevent them, the workshop runs Tuesday evening from 7:30 to 9 pm at the RCMP detachment on Victoria street.
