RCMP continue to try and solve 2019 Prince George homicide

Prince George RCMP and North District RCMP are continuing their investigation into the homicide of 41-year-old Kristopher Bychyk.

On January 12th, 2019, police responded to a string of incidents that were determined to be related.

First, a report of a vehicle fire on Chilako Station Road, and shortly afterwards a call of found human remains in the West Lake area, later identified as Bychyk.

According to Cpl. Madonna Saunderson, a canvas of both areas was completed, video footage has been reviewed and now police are asking for help from the community.

“The investigation is active and ongoing, and police are appealing to the for information related to a black Dodge Neon with a distinct spoiler and white design on the side of it,”  she said.

“This vehicle may have been in the West Lake and Chilako Road areas in and around January 12th, 2019.”

Sherri, Kris’s mother, also made an appeal.

“Kris grew up in the Lower Mainland and in 2018 decided to go to Prince George for a job opportunity and affordable housing.”

“No one deserves what happened to him. There are people who have information and who can help.”
