Prince George’s Fire Chief has been recognized for his year’s of service.
Chief John Iverson was given the Fire Services Exemplary Medal earlier this week at Prince George City Council.
He says this is given out by the Governor General.
“The background for this is, if your in the fire service for a length of time,” says Iverson, “you receive this as an award of recognition for the work you’ve done in public service.”
Iverson has worked with the fire department for 27 years.
He says the biggest change has been improved training and safety equipment.
