Figure skaters around the region flock to PG for regional championships

This weekend, Prince George’s Kin Centres will be hosting the Cariboo North Central Region’s Figure Skating Champions.

Julia Shaddick, president of the Prince George Figure Skating Club said that the event has drawn the attention of skaters from all over the area.

“This event is hosting approximately 300 skaters from across the North. Everywhere from Williams Lake up to Fort St. John, Prince Rupert through to Prince George, and all the communities in between.”

There will be a variety of competition categories including showcase, artistic, and dance skating.

The championships will feature a wide range of age and skill groups, from children to adults.

The event will be open to the public, with free entry for spectators.

Those interested in attending can visit the Prince George Kin Centres from 8 A.M. to 9 P.M. today (Saturday), and from 9 A.M. until noon tomorrow (Sunday).
