The city is only halfway through the season, but over 250 Prince George residents have already received parking tickets after violating the winter parking restrictions.
Manager of Bylaw Services, Fred Crittenden, said that the numbers are similar to last year.
However, he clarified that ticket numbers are largely driven by snowfall.
“Just around Christmas time, it really started to get busy,” said Crittenden.
He added that the holidays may have hindered enforcement.
“Our numbers could have been much higher.”
Drivers are encouraged to familiarize themselves with parking regulations, as ticket numbers are expected to climb with each major snowfall.
Detailed winter parking restrictions can be found on the City of PG’s website.
