Local dog club, Top Dog Agility Association, will be hosting a special charity competition tomorrow (Saturday) between 9 A.M. and 5 P.M.
The winter agility trial will be open to the public, with entry by donation.
The contest will feature both small and large dog breeds, who will be competing in an array of events.
The winter agility competition is officially sanctioned by the Agility Association of Canada, a registered non-profit and one of the larger governing bodies of national dog agility trials.
All proceeds from the event will be going to support the LUV 4 PAWS animal charity in PG.
“What they do at Top Dog is very unique and special for our community, being that they focus on positive reinforcement training,” said Andrea Sowers, founder of LUV 4 PAWS.
While Sowers’ charity is not yet a registered non-profit, she is in the process of legitimizing her organization.
“There’s going to be some exciting, faster runs,” explained Director of Promotion for the Agility Association, Marc Bernat.
“I think we’ve got about 25 handlers,” he added.
Those interested in spectating the competition can visit the PG Agriplex by the CN Centre on January 4th.
More information is available on the LUV 4 PAWS Facebook page.
