Natural Christmas tree recycling planned for this weekend in PG

Prince George residents who chose natural Christmas trees may be wondering what to do with them now that the holidays are over.

For the 2nd year, youth organization Job’s Daughters will be hosting a Christmas tree recycling event in the CN Centre parking lot from 10 A.M. until 4 P.M. on Saturday, January 4th and Sunday, January 5th.

The organization will be accepting donations on-site, with some of the proceeds going to help support the Hearing Impaired Kids Equipment fund.

Dianne Graham, a volunteer with Job’s Daughters International stressed the importance of recycling trees instead of simply discarding them.

“If you want to drop by the tree chipping event that’s great, but if not, we encourage everyone to make sure that their trees go up to the landfill.”

Event details can be found on the city of Prince George’s website.
