The BC Major Midget League (MML) Winter Classic will be hosted from January 16th to 19th in Fort St. James.
Both Men’s MML and Female Midget AAA hockey teams will be participating.
The event will feature the Northern Capitals female team and the men’s Cariboo Cougars.
“It is our desire to build hockey in the North. You know, our region is very spread out in terms of where we can pull players from,” director of Media Relations for Cariboo Hockey, Caleb Wilson, explained.
Wilson also emphasized the importance of developing a strong female hockey division, saying: “for the Northern Capitals its all about building exposure for women’s hockey.”
Both the Ernie Sam Memorial Arena and the Fort Forum will host games as apart of the event.
