UNBC Faculty Association to continue job action into the new year

A student information session, hosted by the UNBC Faculty Association (FA), revealed that the association intends to continue job action in 2020.

“I think everyone is glad to be back in classes, but my general feeling… is that the students have been very understanding. The other unions did a great job showing their solidarity while we were out picketing and we hope that will continue should it be necessary in the future,” said Paul Siakaluk, Vice President of the UNBC Faculty Association.

Siakaluk added that picketing may resume in the Spring semester: “The FA executive has the authority to put picket lines back up if we feel that it’s needed to pressure the employer to improve their bargaining with us,”.

Despite the resumption of classes on Monday, job action at UNBC is continuing on a limited basis.

Classes will continue until December 13th.
