WHL: (PG Cougars)
Spokane Chiefs 5 Prince George Cougars 2
After opening the scoring in the first period of Oktoberfest Night at the CN Centre, the (3-6-0-1) Prince George Cougars gave up two goals in the second.
Spokane then scored back-to-back goals late in the third period, both coming less than a minute apart after the Cougars managed to tie things up in the final five minutes of the game.

The Cats will now look to entertain the (2-6-1-2) Swift Current Broncos on Tuesday and the (6-4-1) Kelowna Rockets on Wednesday.
The Cougars are tied with Victoria and Seattle for the second wild-card spot in the Western Conference.

The Cougars made a changeup with their roster on Saturday, announcing the acquisition of two players and draft picks from the Winnipeg Ice, in exchange for Jackson Leppard.
Prince George receives forward Holden Kodak, defenceman Marco Creta, two third-round WHL Bantam Draft selections, and a conditional fifth-round selection from the Winnipeg.
Both players are expected to be in the Cougars lineup for Tuesday’s game against Swift Current.

The (5-7-2-1) Prince George Spruce Kings couldn’t find the equalizer when they faced off against the (9-5-2-1) Chilliwack Chiefs at the RMCA on Saturday night.
Prince George is 4th in the Mainland Division, three points behind the (8-8) Langley Rivermen, seven back of the (10-3) Coquitlam Express, and eight behind the (9-5-2-1) Chilliwack Chiefs.

The Cariboo Cougars had their five-game win streak capped as they hosted (7-2) Vancouver Northeast Chiefs at Kin 1.
The two teams will rematch meet this morning at 10:30 a.m. also at Kin 1.

Canada West Men’s Soccer: (UNBC Timberwolves)
Thompson River Wolfpack 4 UNBC Timberwolves 0
The (4-7-3) UNBC Timberwolves men’s soccer team will conclude its regular season today games against the (5-5-5) Thompson Rivers University (TRU) WolfPack after being eliminated from playoff contention Saturday.
After a scoreless opening half, TRU bombarded the Timberwolves in the second half with four goals.

With a Thompson Rivers loss on Friday night, UNBC clinched themselves a post-season berth with the top six teams in each division extending their season.

Dane Evans and Brandon Banks anchored a record-setting performance Saturday by the Tiger-Cats. Evans’ 62-yard touchdown strike to Banks in the third quarter led Hamilton to a home win over the Ottawa Redblacks.
