Tackling downtown issues day-to-day effort by PG RCMP

The Prince George RCMP opened up their cruisers this morning to local media.

What was considered a ‘quiet’ morning in Downtown Prince George by many officers still managed to show many of the prevalent issues that go on throughout the city.

Driving throughout the streets of downtown, much of the early efforts by the Prince George RCMP E-Division in the morning hours is dealing with the numerous encampments.

At approximately 9:00 a.m., RCMP met up with the Prince George Bylaw Authority to attend an encampment near Queensway.

Officers stated they discovered the encampment earlier in the week. Due to the size, they have needed to return each day in order to ensure effort is being made to pack up and vacate.

One officer indicated that a few days ago, the site had a generator running, televisions plugged in, and many of the tents had a functioning source of heat.
