UNBC and its Faculty Association are continuing negotiations this weekend.
This comes after members have voted 84.8 percent in favour of a strike mandate.
Chief Negotiator Dr. Ted Binnema says they hope to reach a settlement without striking.
He says they are seeking a contract that is normal in the university sector across Canada.
“And that extends to all aspects of the contract,” says Binnema, “working conditions, job security, evaluations, processes, salary, benefits, and so on.”
The membership includes just over 350 members.
