A test run for one event at the Canada Winter Games is taking place this weekend.
As the target shooting competition will see competitors from across the country coming together in preparation for the games.
32 shooters are expected, which Sport coordinator Steven Storch says is a small number when it comes to the final wide ranging event in the Games:
“We are expecting approximately 80 competitors from all provinces and territories other than Nunavut and PEI. The top competitors typically come from the provinces of BC, Alberta, Ontario, Quebec, and medals can come from other Provinces as well”
It will be the first time that electronic scoring will be used for an air gun competition in BC, using a highly advanced scoring system from Norway that is internationally recognized.
The event takes place on Saturday at the CNC, with final standings determined the following day.
