PG joins call to suspend Canada Post changes

Prince George is joining the call to ask Canada Post to suspend their mail delivery changes.

Their proposed changes to would increase the number of community mailboxes. Speaking to council Monday night, Tami Brushey, President of the PG local says a leaked document speculates 25 positions will be lost in the city.

Here, she speaks on what the future of the postal industry would look like.

Brushey also points out that mailboxes are not secure and are prone to freezing, vandalism, and identify theft.

She also says with the increase in online shopping, door-to-door cutbacks will slow down delivery.

City council says Canada Post needs to hold off on its changes until proper consultation is had with municipalities across the country.
