Jane Gauehier Community Development Coordinator with BBBSPG for the organization said the proceeds from the race will go to support The Big Brothers Big Sisters Big 40 fundraiser.

“It is to celebrate our 40th anniversary here in Prince George, and it’s our goal to raise $40,000 (throughout the year) to increase our mentoring programs in the community and region.”

She added the organization is hoping to make it an annual event.

The race involves homemade non-motorized cars using gravy to race down a hill.

Registration for the race is open until July 28 and is $45 per entry.

In addition to the race, Gauehier said there will be face painting, a barbecue, and bounce castle for the kids.

The race is set for two weeks from now from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on August 3.
