With the stamp sealed on the 15th Annual Variety BC Radiothon, fundraising saw the community raise a total of $56,000 at the end of the two-day event.
“There are so many great, giving, community members in this city,” said Selen Alpay, Owner of Canadian Tire in Prince George, as well as a sponsor of the event. “They have all stepped up. This is such a great community, and this community always comes together for great causes.”
Most recently, Variety BC has directly supported over 300 families in the area of the Northern Capital with everything from medical supplies, mobility equipment, and speech therapy to mental health counseling, education bursaries, and even a Sunshine Family van.
Variety BC’s Jacquelyn Dittrich told MyPGNow says the support in the Northern Capital is astounding.
“The support in this community is always super awesome. We love how much they support us whenever we come up here. It’s really important to us to be able to come up to PG and support them.”
While the phones are now closed, online donations are still rolling in.
