Mental health group home to benefit from United Way Day of Caring

It’s time to spruce up the yard and garden.

The United Way of Northern B.C. has called for a “Day of Caring”, which will take place this coming Thursday at a Canadian Mental Health Association group home in Prince George.

“What I normally do is I put out a Day 0f Caring request to our corporate partners,” Resource Development Officer, Michele Brooke told MyPGNow. “In this instance, RBC Bank has come on board.”

According to Brooke, it’s not the first time RBC has assisted with a Day of Caring. The organization will be providing ten volunteers for the day’s event, which will aim in getting the group home ready for summer.

“The fence in is in need of a bit of TLC (Tender Loving Care),” said Brooke. “It needs a bit of prep work, a bit of painting, the yard in the back needs a bit of a clean out and get it ready for summer.”

“We are very grateful to UWNBC for organizing a Day of Caring with our group home. It means a lot to the me who live in our home to know that the community cares enough o come and help them beautify their home and help with the spring clean up,” said Maureen Davis, Executive Director with CMHA.

The event will take place from 2:00 p.m. to about 5:00 p.m. on Thursday evening.
