Police dogs deployed, one injured in home invasion in Pineview

The Prince George RCMP are asking for public’s help following a home invasion yesterday that left one man injured.

The incident occurred at approximately 5:30pm, when frontline officers responded to a report of a home invasion assault at an address in the Pineview area.

RCMP said that initial indication was that an unknown male had entered the residence, assaulted the lone adult male occupant, and then fled the scene.

Multiple officers attended the area including a Police Dog Service team.  The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries and was knocked out during the incident.

Investigators believe that a time delay occurred before police were called because of the victim’s injuries. The suspect was not located.

The suspects is described as:

  • First Nations male
  • 183 cm (6’0″)
  • 113 kgs (250 lbs)
  • Black messy hair with some facial hair
  • Wearing black sunglasses, a dark hoody, cargo pants and a large backpack

The victim was assessed by paramedics and declined transportation to hospital.  Although the motive for this incident is not yet known, police said it is possible that the suspect broke into the residence and was startled by the victim.
