It looks like it might be a “white Christmas” in Prince George, after all.
Meteorologist Doug Lundquist says we can expect a late blast of cool Arctic air combined a last-minute dump of flurries that might stick around by the time you wake up on Christmas morning.
“I’m really hoping that sticks downtown and stays,” he says. “Over high terrain, I’m good with that, I’m sure you’ll maintain the snow at higher parts of town, but downtown it’s … likely, but there’s still a chance it will end up being green.”
Lundquist is calling for sunny skies on Christmas Day with a high around -2 degrees.
This month is about twice a warm as usual according to Lundquist , though precipitation is about 10 millimetres less than average.

“I would say that we’re way-down on the snowfall, it was way less than usual for this time of year,” he says. “The real issue is that we’re a lot less snowy than we usually are in December.”
