WATCH: PG ready to unclog storm drains as snow starts to melt

WATCH:

Prince George is ready to unclog storm drains & manholes with the expected snowmelt this weekend.

As temperatures rise above zero degrees, this could cause rapid melting on City streets, leading to possible traffic issues & localized flooding.

“Typically, for this time of year, the Prince George area sees daytime highs around minus-six and nighttime lows of around minus-14. You know, we’re well above seasonal by about 10 or 11 degrees above normal.”

– Lisa Ervin, Environment Canada Meteorologist

There are more than 5,500 drains in PG & residents are asked to call the City if they notice drainage problems in their area.
