Accessibility upgrades continue at local museum

More upgrades to the Railway and Forestry museum have begun.

Director Ranjit Gill says work on the display pavilion has started but will be on hold till the new year:

“Last week we poured cement and now the project is on hold until the Spring time and then we will continue with the building, we are still looking for financial donations, [as] there is a mandate from our membership that we are not to borrow money to build. So we will be building it in stages and we welcome any financial contributions”

Gill says a total of $500,000 dollars is needed to complete the project, which will make the railway cars fully accessible and create covered structures to lessen the deterioration of the exhibits.
