The Prince George RCMP were out in full force this past weekend, actively looking for impaired drivers as part of the BC Counter Attack program.
Hundreds of stops were made. The results are as follows:
Criminal Code Impaired Driving charge – 1 (three times the legal limit)
90 day Immediate Roadside Prohibition & 30 day Vehicle Impound – 17
90 day Immediate Roadside Prohibition & 30 day Vehicle Impound (refusal) – 2
24 hour Driving Prohibition for Alcohol – 1
The RCMP says new drivers are not exempt from restrictions if their passenger is intoxicated and remind you to plan ahead for a safe ride home, including the use of transit, taxis, and Operation Red Nose.
