The investigation in the shooting death of a local man last week is continuing, and police say they are confident that it was a targeted attack.
On Friday, December 14th, at approximately 5:00pm, the Prince George RCMP received a report of possible shots fired in the area of the 700 block of Johnson Street.
According to police, multiple officers attended the area and soon after located a man outside a residence who was suffering from injuries as a result of being shot.
The 30 year old male was transported to hospital where he died a short time later. No suspects were located.
The RCMP’s Serious Crime Unit have been leading the investigation. Police say it is a priority for the detachment and that the public is not at risk.
Investigators are asking anyone that may have witnessed or have information about this violent crime to contact the Detachment at 250-561-3300. Home or business owners in the area that have outdoor surveillance images are also asked to also contact investigators. Further information may be provided as it becomes available.
